Hi,

Can i please have your help in configuring the log format to have information in the Browser, Operation Systems and Visitor Domains Section? for now the information is Unknown.

I have tried several configurations of the Log Format but with no success!

Here is the actual log format that is working:

LogFormat="%host %other %logname %time1 %methodurl %code %bytesd %other"

Also another small question:

How does the standings for the File types is build?

I have an example of prt document..it has 32 hits..it means that this type of document was accesed 32 times? or download it? because i'm pretty sure that this number should be bigger.

Thank you,

Cosmin

Hi,

It will be easier to answer your first question if you paste here a few lines from your log file

Regarding the second question, AWStats looks at the file name extension of the main part of the URL (i.e. query string excluded). A hit on /blahblah.prt will be a hit on a .prt file while a hit on /blahblah.php?document=text.prt will be a hit on a .php file.

Cosmin,

Your LogFormat  above is correct. You do not get information about browsers and operating systems, because the log format you are using does not include a user-agent field.

The unknown domains and countries is a different issue. You can either set DNSLookUp :

DNSLookup=1

or use one of the geolocation plugins, like GeoIPfree or GeoIP from Maxmind. This is a bit more complicated to install, but it is faster and it is more accurate.

Hi Jean-Luc,

I have made the changes for the DNS and now i have some countries in the visitor domains/countries section.

For the Log format i think i will leav it like it is.

Thank you very much!

Have an excellent 2010.

Best regards,

Cosmin
