Hi all,

We are running our small intranet on our organisations internal network server running IIS v6.

We would like to install AWstats on this intranet.

Our internal IT committee indicates costs between $10000 – $15000 to get this software installed by our third party network provider.

They state that they havn't actually spoken to the 3rd party. They indicate that they will be able to give us a more accurate figure after further analysis, which could cost our unit an extra 2k.

This seems an outrageous figure!

I have tried to summarize my questions below:

Please provide comment on the costs advised above;
Or even provide some estimates on what an installation should cost on the average organisation network
Also, I am not technically server minde, so can someone provide some non-tech guidance about the difficulties of installing AWStats on an average organisations internal IIS intranet?

Hi,

The quoted amount is ridiculously high.
The price quoted for an average AWStats installation should not exceed US $ 1000. We do many remote installations for much less than $ 1000 ! Of course, no specific quotation should be given without having enough details about your site.
Before installing AWStats on IIS, you need some knowledge of the management of IIS servers. Perl must be installed on the server and the IIS server must be able to run Perl applications.
