Hi,

 

Intially i have been using common log format and awstats is working fine, To capture the Browser information i moved to combined log format and changed accordingly the awstats configuration.

 

Time to time the update fails when it tries to compile the old format data is there any way other than clearing apache logs and handling it through config file itself.

Hi,

I understand that you want to process log files in common log format and in combined log format with the same AWStats config file.

My suggestion is that you add two dummy fields at the end of each row of the files in common log format before you pass it to AWStats. So you need to add a space character followed by "-" "-" at the end of each row.
