Logresolvemerge – different servers/load balance

I've yet to try this because I'm afraid I'll mess up my log files, but perhaps someone could shed some light on this.

I need to merge logfiles from two load-balance servers (they're on different machines). If I were to do something like:

LogFile="//SERVER1/pathto/ mylog*.log |"

and I need to retrieve logs from //SERVER2. How would I go about doing that?

Will the log files be merged on one server?

Thanks for any info on this!

When you use this kind of command, logresolvemerge will merge the log files on the flight and it will pipe the output to Nothing wll be changed by AWStats in the log files.

logresolvemerge accepts a list of arguments. So you can have:

LogFile="C:\pathto\ mylog*.log G:\other_path\log*.log |"

I am not sure that you can use the //SERVER1 syntax though.

Thanks for the help so far Jean.

Do you know if there's a way to merge multiple files from C:logLogFilesW3SVC1 and D:logLogFilesW3SVC1 together into a file? I couldn't find the option in the documentation.

I'd like to be able to run the perl script in command prompt doing something like C:\log\LogFiles\W3SVC1*.log D:\log\LogFiles\W3SVC1*.log > Test.log

Would that work?

Muchos Thanks!

Yes, this will generate a merged output file.
