I am using the latest plugin with AWstats.  The I click zoom on an IP addresss I get this error

 Error: Couldn't open server log file "D:/awstats-7.3/tools/logresolvemerge.pl //scenpw01/weblogs$/swis/w3svc2/u_ex141218.log //scenpw02/weblogs$/swis/w3svc2/u_ex141218.log |" : Bad file descriptor

I am on running awstats on a windows server via IIS 7  I have seen this issue before but have no idea how to solve it..

Anyone wanna throw me a bone?

Thanks in advance!

When clicking on zoom with this config:

LogFile="D:/awstats-7.3/tools/logresolvemerge.pl d:/weblogs/pw1/u_ex%YY-0%MM-0%DD-2.log
d:/weblogs/pw2/u_ex%YY-0%MM-0%DD-2.log |"

I get Bad File Descriptor

But this config works:

LogFile="d:/weblogs/pw1/u_ex%YY-0%MM-0%DD-2.log"

Any ideas why?

Hi,

I have not been able to reproduce your issue.

I have a Linux system where the Follow Me plugin runs without problem with

LogFile="/home/ws1/awstats_tools/logresolvemerge.pl /home/ws1/data/BBB/logs_current/*.gz |"

I don't see why it would be different under Windows.

You may have a permission issue to execute logresolvemerge.pl though.

Here is an update.  I modified this line:

LogFile="D:/awstats-7.3/tools/logresolvemerge.pl d:/weblogs/pw1/u_ex%YY-0%MM-0%DD-2.log
d:/weblogs/pw2/u_ex%YY-0%MM-0%DD-2.log |"

to this:

LogFile="perl D:/awstats-7.3/tools/logresolvemerge.pl d:/weblogs/pw1/u_ex%YY-0%MM-0%DD-2.log
d:/weblogs/pw2/u_ex%YY-0%MM-0%DD-2.log |"

And I no longer get the bad file descipter but a permissions issue.

So then I changed the account that IIS runs under to an account that can access the windows shares where
the logs are it now works.  Well, no errors.

However, not when I do a zoom on entries I know are in the log, nothing is ever found.

Here is my log format:

LogFormat="%time2 %other %other %other %method %url %other %other %logname %host %other %ua %other %referer %host_r
%code %other %other %bytesd %other %other"

Is this ok for follow me?

thanks!

Hi,

Did you have the same empty report when trying with:

LogFile="d:/weblogs/pw1/u_ex%YY-0%MM-0%DD-2.log"
