hmm I did have this under a separate topic but I think I might have been confusing there, so i am writing a new post.. Since this is kinda important, any help that you can provide Jean is very much appreciated.

Here's how some detail pages on our site look like

and so on .. In a nutshell, I need to create an extra section report to show me page views for any records in my log which would have “/details?catalog.label= ” in them..

For this particular conf file, I already have an OnlyFiles section to parse the

abc/123/portal/opal/ requirement..

Can u help me come up with the Extra Section for this ?

I would try this :

The URL will end with "details" and the value of "catalog.label" will appear in the extra section if "catalog.label" is present in the QUERY_STRING.

Thanks Jean, I already have that in place..

For this extra section, I do not want to list out the navcodes ie no QUERY_STRING on catalog.label..

I just want to show something like this, ie a count of all the hits for the URL below.. I tried several config changes using URL and URLWITHQUERY but didnt work.. But wanna know how u might do this..

TotalPages                                                                                          Pages

/software/brandcatalog/portal/opal/details/?catalog.label                       3200

Anyway I can exclude any pages from the Extra Section count ? i mean say I wanted count for all detail pages like ExtraSectionCondition2=”URL,details$” but without any detail pages ending with ?catalog.path=featured in their URLs.. how should i do that ?

Also would there be a way to exclude the robots hits in the Extra Sections somehow ? that would solve my problem ..

thanks !!

In a regular expression, you can use a negative lookahead assertion to exclude pages ending with some expression.

Or try this (not tested) :

As you see, this is becoming pretty complicated.  Google for regexp lookahead  to find a tutorial.

You can exclude robots based on their user agent, but you cannot exclude all robots as this would require that you list the user agents of all robots in the regexp excluding them.
