i like to generate a statistic from old apache.log Files via command line to a pdf file. This should be possible with the

I use this command:

perl -LogFile=/home/stats/ -awstatsprog=pathto/ -dir=/home/stats/ -buildpdf=/usr/bin/htmldoc

But all i get is a raw awstat statistic without any data of the logfile.

What went wrong?

Can you help me, please

You don't see any data because you generated the PDF report for the default month, which is the present month (February 2009). You need to add the -month=MM  and -year=YYYY  options.

Can you explain how it locks for this month?

I must say that I do not completely understand your comments, but here are a few remarks that I hope will be useful:

  • htmldoc  must be available on your server for awstats_buildstaticpages  to be able to create the PDF files; you should see an error message if awstats_buildstaticpages  does not find htmldoc
  • the AWStats config file is the file specified by the -config  option
  • the -logfile  option is of no use here
  • to generate the PDF file for March 2008, I would try:

perl -month=3 -year=2008 -awstatsprog=pathto/ -dir=/home/stats/ -buildpdf=/usr/bin/htmldoc
