For past two days AWSTATS updates are not running, my log format is combined

LogFormat = "%host %other %logname %time1 %methodurl %code %bytesd %refererquot %uaquot"

And Error its showing is in the below line

151.146.117.3 – username [03/Mar/2011:20:48:44 -0500] "GET /Windchill/netmarkets/jsp/netmarkets/view.jsp HTTP/1.1" 401 505 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; G
TB6.6; SIMBAR={B5F792F6-43D5-11E0-9EFA-0019DB5B0D5E}; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)"

 I think there is an extra character in String GTB6.6, which is causing the issue.

Any idea on how to skip this line alone and proceed on other records

Hi,

This is strange. It seems there is an end-of-line sequence of characters (CR-LF) between G and TB6.6. I don't see any other special character, but some special characters may be hidden by the text editor of this forum. If there is just an end-of-line sequence, AWStats should just drop the line (two lines) because they are not valid and continue to parse the log file. In this case, the update should run almost perfectly as only the lines containing GTB6.6 would be dropped.

Hi,

thanks for the update, i manage clearing the line, but i lost 3 days of stats. one question, the issue occurred on March 15th and the log entry is on 3rd March, why AWSTATS recheck while calculating in current date the old datas, is there a way to stop this?

Hi,

When running an AWStats update, AWStats reads (or re-reads) the log file(s) specified by the LogFile  directive of the AWStats configuration file.

In your case, I would remove the "bad" lines from the log file and I would move all AWStats data files from the DirData  directory to a temporary directory. Then you have to rerun AWStats updates for all log files of March. When this is done, you can restore the AWStats data files that were initially moved to the temporary directory (except the March data file that has just be rebuilt).
