Microsoft Antispam Bot
Owner of the robot : Microsoft Corporation
Country : USA
Robot type : search engine
Description : MSNBot is the main crawler of Microsoft for its Live Search (MSN Search) search engine. This crawler is well known, maybe too well known. Some webmasters show this robot other contents than to regular users. To fight this spam, Microsoft runs several kinds of quality checks. Some of these quality checks are performed by the Microsoft Antispam Bot. It uses a user agent that looks very much like a regular browser and its referrer looks like a regular Live referrer (most other robots do not show any referrer):
http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=keyword&mrt=en-us&FORM=LIVSOP
Microsoft Antispam Bot reads HTML pages and the related CSS files. Do not block this bot as this would negatively hurt your ranking in Microsoft search engine.
